Introducing the new Pro EXP Series Urethane Expandable Dumbbell Sets from PowerBlock. PowerBlock’s new Pro EXP Series Dumbbells set a new standard for efficiency, versatility, and ease of use. These Urethane coated weight plates offer the ultimate in smooth and quiet performance in addition to Flex technology handles and selector pins, making for the most durable, quietest PowerBlock series ever. 

The PowerBlock Pro EXP 50 Dumbbell set is a stage 1 set that can be expanded to 70lbs and then again to 90lbs (** expansion kits sold separately). These compact dumbbells are designed to be easier to control and balance and can go from 5-50 lbs, which replaces the need for 16 pairs of standard fixed-weight dumbbells. They feature a patented selector pin system and are equipped with two 2.5 lb chrome weights per handle at no extra charge to micro-load weight adjustments in 2.5 lb increments. A new autolock feature automatically locks the micro-loaded adder weights into place when put into the weight stack.

The Pro Series dumbbells also feature an “open handle” design. The benefit of the open handle design over the closed handle design is that you have a lot more room for you hand, which is especially great if you’ve got larger hands. Secondly, and just as important, is that the wrist supports don’t get in the way of your wrists/forearms on exercises like biceps curls where your wrists need to flex.

Finally, the handle grip is made out of a thick durable plastic compound, covered by a strong and grippy rubber coating making for a more comfortable overall workout.

About the Expansion Kits

The Pro EXP series comes in 3 stages. Stage 1 is the 5-50lb base unit and can operate independently. Stage 2 units include the 50lb - 70lb kit and stage 3 includes a 70lb - 90lb kit. Both stage 2 and 3 require the Stage 1 base to operate.

Urethane Advantages:

• Complete resistance to rust. The entire part of the weight block that’s covered with urethane simply won’t rust. Whereas, if the powder coating on the steel plates is scratched or chipped, the exposed steel will rust easily.
